New logistics hub powers performance for BOBST customers
Our flagship logistics hub for Europe, Africa and the Middle East now combines all our product lines, providing our customers with a convenient single point of contact and shipment. Located at the heart of Europe in Genk, Belgium, this ideal geographical location and its closeness to strategic transportation infrastructures means a later cut off and faster delivery for our customers.
The hub is directly connected with our American and Asian logistics hubs. This fully connected logistics network gives our customers enhanced access to the spare parts they need. We optimize our service level to our customers independently of which machine they have or where their business is located. They benefit from shorter lead times and higher availability thanks to state-of-the-art operations that leverage automation and digitalization also in the last step of our supply chain.
“Here at Genk, we’ve introduced the most advanced technologies available. Our fleet of robots makes it so much easier and quicker to manage the supply of BOBST parts. It’s amazing to see the process in action – we’re truly using technology of the future, today,” says Kris Leysen, BOBST Operations Manager.
Now, more than 99% of the orders placed before 6pm CET are shipped the same day.
We are currently shipping 100,000 packages per year, from a stock of 100,000 individual BOBST parts stored in an area larger than 11,000 m². This will evolve as we extend our hub to 18,000 m².
“The automation of our order process in Genk means that we can supply BOBST parts much quicker than before. We’re bringing shorter lead times and higher availability to our customers,” says Ünal Aytan, BOBST Distribution Director.
In the first year of operation alone, we delivered 2,300 tons of BOBST certified or originals parts to more than 82 countries.
“Our new logistics hub has transformed the experience for our customers. They love how smooth and seamless it is now to order BOBST parts through MyBOBST. And in combination with our new hub, it’s a clear demonstration of the BOBST vision,” says Jean Chavanne, BOBST Head of Supply Chain.
The hub also meets the highest sustainability’s certifications, namely using on-site solar and wind power generation for its operations. We are also moving our supplier base closer to the hub for even reduced delivery time and lowered environmental impact for BOBST as well as our customers.
It’s now easier than ever for our customers to keep their BOBST machine in perfect condition.
